Temptation Bundling: Two Birds/One Stoner

Learning to broaden a skill does indeed take time. Ack! But with advents of technology and behavioral science, we can learn to fill gaps of knowledge without lifting a finger. Let's look at an example of how we can utilize concepts from temptation bundling to power up our brains.

Meet Lee. Lee is an experienced cannabis chef who moves to a new city. They land an interview at an authentic cannabis-infused vegan Middle Eastern restaurant. However, they don't feel confident with their level of knowledge in vegan Middle Eastern cuisine. Lee is excited about research for the restaurant, but first must unpack and assemble furniture.

Lee unpacks while listening to YouTube videos of chefs cooking unique dishes. Even while preparing their meals or cleaning the new apartment, Lee will default to listening as a means to absorb concepts and lingo for the interview.

What Lee is using is a form of temptation bundling: combing a task you want to do with a job you need to do. With temptation bundling, Lee can enjoy maximizing research input and unpacking output simultaneously.
